This summer, Xiaoping spent almost three months to made his new public art works "Apple series". It were installed in "China Training Center Reproductive Health& Family Care" in Taichang (a city just outside of Shanghai). It was a big opening on Oct. 28th.

"Apple Mural" Size: 10 x 4m / 34'x13',ceramic apples decorated with hand made low relieves, the subject matter of the relieves come from life that the everything you can see everyday: bird, flower, computer.....

"Apple tree Pillar"Size: high 4m / 13', granite. The half carved with relieves of apple tree and moon be set to outside door, other half carved with relieves of tree and sun be set to inside door.

"Apple-Woman and Men" Size: 2 x 1.6m /6.7'x 5.4', white marble, black granite. One high relief of male body was carved on one of the section of the half black apple, other half white apple carved with recessed female body.

October 25th, 2005

"The Second Match of China (Hui'an) Traditional Carving Opuses Exhibition" held in Hui'an, Xiaoping had present as a judge. This competition was separated to two part-stone carving and wood carving.

The Claystudio presented "Mastery in clay 2005 auction celebration", all artists be invited, two teapots were auctioned.

September, 2005

Shanghai city invited Xiaoping made "Fen Xuefeng" by bronze, who was a famous author around 1930 years. This sculpture tall about 2m - 6.7', will be installed by Duorengduo Road with other ten sculptures. This street had many famous authors and poets lived. Now become a wellknow scenic spot.

Xiaoping also was invited to made two granite sculptures- "Dream" Size: 2m / 6.7'. one for the Changshou Sculpture Park by the Changshou Road of Shanghai, China. one for a company in Shanghai.

Shanghai City Hall invited Xiaoping made one ceramic relief tile for the conference room, called "Today of Shanghai" Size: 10 x 3m / 34'x10'. This frescoes portrayed all impression this modern city---The theatre, Huangpu River-Waitan(the bund), Yuyuan garden, Oriental Pearl TV Tower etc....

Yipeng Ying visited Phoenix, and taught workshop in Mesa Community College of Phoenix in AZ, USA, Yipeng was one of Xiaoping's teacher when Xiaoping studied in art institute, all the students were dumbfounded by his outstanding demonstration.
That was so wonderful they can put together again, Junya and Xiaoping brought him with his wife visited "Great Canyon" and other several scenic spots in AZ, and brought back many pleasant memories.
They also had a great Calligraphy Party in Doris Ong's house.

"Polemical Clay" hold in Pewabic Pottery, MI, USA. Ten artists showed their works, showed that ceramic's potential is rich and vast as any other artistic medium. "Xiaoping's work "Time Square-2003" and "Time Square-Hello" were the most overtly political Pieces" one article wrote.
"Time Square-Hello" this piece also had participated "Asian America Ceramic Exhibition" in Kertucky Museum Of Arts Design 2004.

Exhibition "Yixing Teapots" showed in The Claystudio, Philadelphia, PA, USA. Curated by Xiaoping Luo. This exhibition held in conjunction with "Collectors of Wood Art 2005 Forum". Besides Xiaoping and Junya, other five artists from Yixing of China had showed their art works, total about 60 teapots to look like wood in many style, all functional.
The opening reception on fisrst Friday, Sep. 2, 5-9pm, Junya Shao give lecture on Friday, Sep. 16, 6-8pm, and workshop on Saturday.

Junya and Xiaoping taught one week handbuilding workshop in Mendocino art Center in Mendocino, CA, USA. The Students were from all around USA, even Canada, after one week hard working, everyone made two teapots and one head sculpture.
Junya and Xiaoping had drove to there, visited two national parks and some start parks.
They both are working hard, and playing hard too.

Junya taught one week workshop in Sierra Nevada College in Lake Tahoe, CA, USA. In this week, every one learned how to make round and square teapots by slab techniques. That was a very good challenge for everyone.
