About Us
Xiaoping split his time between Yixing and the United States now, traveling throughout the United States teaching workshop and doing exhibition.
He is a contemporary artist, whose works include figurative sculpture, relief sculpture, and modern expressions of Yixing teapots. Drawing from his rich cultural heritage and knowledge of Chinese tradition, Xiaoping uses the purple clay of Yixing to make his own statements and interpretations of beauty, spirit, and psychology.
He has been recognized in China and abroad as an outstanding artist holding several first place awards in China and the United States. His works have been exhibited in many countries, have been collected internationally by museums including Montreal Museum of Art, Canada; Ariana Museum of Art, Switzerland; Hawaii Museum of Art, United States; and China National Museum of History. Also, he has done many solo exhibitions in many countries, like ASU Art Museum USA etc.
Xiaoping received his BFA in Sculpture from Jingdezhen Ceramics College, and went on to become a member of the Architecture Faculty of Tongji University, Shanghai. In 1992, He opened his own teaching and art studio in Yixing and has started to build the Xiaoping Studio together with his wife-Junya and other artists.

This summer, Xiaoping spent almost three months to made his new public art works "Apple series". It were installed in "China Training Center Reproductive Health& Family Care" in Taichang (a city just outside of Shanghai). It was a big opening on Oct. 28th.
"Apple Mural" Size: 10 x 4m / 34'x13',ceramic apples decorated with hand made low relieves, the subject matter of the relieves come from life that the everything you can see everyday: bird, flower, computer.....
"Apple tree Pillar"Size: high 4m / 13', granite. The half carved with relieves of apple tree and moon be set to outside door, other half carved with relieves of tree and sun be set to inside door.
"Apple-Woman and Men" Size: 2 x 1.6m /6.7'x 5.4', white marble, black granite. One high relief of male body was carved on one of the section of the half black apple, other half white apple carved with recessed female body.
Shanghai city invited Xiaoping made "Fen Xuefeng" by bronze, who was a famous author around 1930 years. This sculpture tall about 2m - 6.7', will be installed by Duorengduo Road with other ten sculptures. This street had many famous authors and poets lived. Now become a wellknow scenic spot.
Xiaoping also was invited to made two granite sculptures- "Dream" Size: 2m / 6.7'. one for the Changshou Sculpture Park by the Changshou Road of Shanghai, China. one for a company in Shanghai.

"The Second Match of China (Hui'an) Traditional Carving Opuses Exhibition" held in Hui'an, Xiaoping had present as a judge. This competition was separated to two part-stone carving and wood carving.
